Jun. 24, 1961 - Juventus pay 300, 000 for Brazilian football star to join team after World Cup Series: Pele the Brazilian wonder forward is to join Italian League Champions Juventus of Turin for a record fee of more than 300, 000 - but not until after the World Cup, of which Brazil are the holders, is over in June next year.
