Penicillin breakthrough discovery, Beecham at Savoy Hotel
Mar. 03, 1959 - British research workers discover new type of penicillin substance : members of the Beecham research laboratories research Team - were at the Savoy hotel this afternoon - when a statement was made on the substance which they have discovered from which a new type of penicillin can be produced that may overcome Restart germs and cause no ill effects in people normally sensitive to penicillin. It is said to be the most important breakthrough since Fleming's discovery in 1929. The team members are F.r batchelor of Ockley, Surrey, F.P. Doyle of west ham, Easex J.h.g. nayler of Blackheath, London and G.n.
