Peronist supporters on return of Peron from exile

Jun. 06, 1973 - Ex-President Peron Back In Argentina: At least 20 Argentinians were killed in gun battles which broke out on the arrival back from exile of Juan Peron, the ex-Argentine president. About 3 million people turned out to greet him and the welcome became so violent that his plane was diverted to the Moron Air Force base near Buenos Aires. The ex-president cancelled arrangements to address the vast crowd at a rally. Photo Shows: Peron supporters waves a rifle to warn the attackers during the disturbances which broke out on the arrival of the former president
