Peter Diamond, Edinburgh Festival director, new RPO manager
Dec. 09 Peter Diamond joins the Royal Philharmonic: Peter Diamond is to join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as one of its directors and general manager, when his present post as director of the Edinburgh Festival runs out in October this year. The new post will come as a challenge as he has been the Edinburgh Festival director since 1965, twice as long as any predecessor. German born Peter Diamond is now a Dutch citizen. He was honoured with a CBE in 1972 and in the same year received an LLD honorary degree from Edinburgh University.
