Jul. 14, 1978 - July 14th 1978 Three people attempt the channel swim - Early this morning three swimmers including 11 year old Kevin Anderson, set off from Shakespeare Beach in Dover, Kent, to attempt the 22 mile swim across the English Channel. Kevin is hoping that he will set up the record as the youngest swimmer to swim the channel.
