Dec. 12, 1969 - Sotheby's stage first ever complete sale of sculpture. The most important sale of modern sculpture held in Britain and the first complete sale of this kind ever held by Sotheby's is taking place this evening. One of the most important pieces of sculpture is Tete de Fou by Pablo Picasso, a signed bronze 16 inches high, The model for the lower part of the face was Max Jacob. The bronze was made in 1904 and was edited by Ambroise Vollard. Photo shows The Picasso Sculpture Tete de Fou at Sotheby's today where it was sold for $ 23, 000
