Pickles finds missing World Cup in his own garden, London
Mar. 03, 1966 - The World Cup is found. A mongrel dog named Pickles last night found the World Cup whilst sniffing around his own garden. The cup, stolen eight days ago, is undamaged and in police hands. Pickles belongs to Mr David Corbett of Beulah Hill, Norwood, south London. Mr Corbett and his dog were going out for a Sunday night stroll. Said Mr Corbett, I was about to put the lead on Pickles when he sniffed at something. It was a bundle wrapped in newspapers. I tore the paper off. I saw gold and the inscription Brazil 1962'. Then I tumbled what it was. I couldn't believe it. I took it indoors to show my wife, Jeanne.
