May 05, 1968 - President De Gaulle Returns To Paris And A Nation Paralysed By A Wave Of Strikes: Cutting short his State visit to Romania, President De Gaulle last night flew back to France paralysed by a nationwide wave of Strikes which are still spreading in the wake of the student unrest. Today the President called an emergency Cabinet meeting.
