Tax rebels are reported to be joining him at the rate of about 4, 000 a day. From the small Paris Hotel which he has made his headquarters - Pierre Poujade has called on shopkeepers to stage a one-day demonstration strike and urged voters to boycott French MPs who failed to support his movement in Parliament. He has also declared that he has asked all shopkeepers to stop paying purchase tax - from April 1st - and to deduct the cost from the prices paid by the customer.
