Mar. 11, 1955 - Annigoni - the Florentine Artist prepares to show his new masterpiece portrait of HM the Queen: Signor Pietro Annigoni the Florentine artist was to be seen at his London studio yesterday preparing to varnish his newest work of art a portrait of HM the Queen. He is to submit the painting to the Royal Academy for the Summer Exhibition. It is a 5ft. tall three quarter length study of the Queen standing outside in the Spring sunshine with a blue almost cloudless sky for the background and a gentle breeze faintly ruffling her hair. It is thought that the painting will prove to be one of the world's greatest masterpieces. It is to be submitted to the Royal Academy and he hopes that it will be accepted for exhibition
