Three former pilots with ME109 fighter plane, Munich

Sep. 09, 1960 - An old acquaintance met these three pilots on Friday, September 2nd, 1960 in the German Museum in Munich: A Me 109 which was given as a present by the Spanish Airforce Ministry to the German Museum in Munich by its constructor, Professor Dr E.H. Willy Messerschmitt, at the same time the 25th anniversary of the most famous German fighter plane of the Second World War was celebrated. Ops: L-R: the former fighter plane pilot Josef Briller, Erich Hartmann who has had 352 firings with a Me 109 and who is now major of a fighter plane command of the Federal Army, and Fritz Wendel, the former chief-pilot of the Messerschmitt Works, who still holds the world-record of propeller planes which he set up in 1939 with 755 Km/hr in a Me 109.
