Dec. 12, 1971 - Pissarro's The four seasons sold for £220, 000. At today's sale at Sotheby's of important Impressionist and Modern Paintings and Sculpture, Camille Pissarro's The Four Seasons was sold for £220, 000. Stockbroker Achille Arosa, one of the first collectors of the Impressionists, became Pissarro's patron and commissioned The Four Seasons in 1872. All four are signed, and each one measures 21 3/4 in X 51 1/4 in. Photo shows Pissarro's The Four Seasons during the sale at Sotheby's today
