PM Scelba of Italy after presenting his Cabinet

Feb. 02, 1954 - ITALY'S NEW PREMIER. SIGNOR SCELBA, Italy's new Prime Minister yesterday presented HIS Cabinet to President Einaudi, and the Ministers were immediately sworn in. The new Government is a left of centre coalition of 14 Christian Democrats, four Social Democrats and three Liberals. The Prime Minister failed to persuade the Republicans, who control five votes in the Chamber of Deputies to accept a Cabinet portfolio. But they have publicly pledged loyal support'.
