Nov. 11, 1953 - Police investigate disappearance of farmer and his wife. Scotland Yard detectives are now investigating the strange disappearance of wealthy farmer 55 year old John Herries and his wife Phoebe (54) from their farmstead Derlwyn, in Carmarthenshire. Quarries, pits and mine shafts in the area are being searched for any trace of the couple - and over 50 statements have been taken by the police from local inhabitants.
