Oct. 17, 1962 - Police Shield For protection from criminals: One of the latest developments in the fight against crime was demonstrated by policemen in London today. It is a shield padded with rubberised horsehair and claimed to be proof against knives, broken bottles and coshes. It has been introduced by the Research and Planning Branch at Scotland Yard.
