Apr. 5, 1978 - Portsmouth, VA, USA - FRANK COPPOLA (1944-1982), was a police officer convicted and sentenced to death for the 1978 capital murder of Muriel Hatchell. A co-conspirator with Coppola was disguised as a flower delivery woman to enter her home, she pulled out a pistol from the flowers, allowing cover for Coppola and others to rush in.
