Feb 25, 1977 - Rome, Italy - (File Photo) LUIS CORVALAN (Luis Alberto Corvalan Castillo) is a Chilean politician, and the former Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Chile (PCC). He was arrested by the Pinochet regime and became a political prisoner in 1973. The USSR arranged for his release and exile in 1976. He returned to Chile after the end of Pinochet's dictatorship.
