Oct. 19, 1957 - United States Senator, Atomic Commission Member arrives in Istambul: Mr. Burke Hickenlooper the United States Senator who is also a member of the Atomic Energy Commission and Foreign Affairs Committees arrived in Istambul recently breaking his journey to Bairat - Bagdad and Gairo where he is to have talks with Arab leaders. He said that the Syria problem was becoming critical. On referring to the Soviet Satellite, he said that although the Soviet had sent the first satellite into the atmosphere the United States was more advanced in this field and their own first satellite would be much more technically superior.
