Feb. 28 Reischauer resigning: United States Ambassador to Japan Edwin O. Reischauer has resigned. His successor is Mr. U. Alexio Johnson. Born in Tokyo of American parents, Reishchauer was a internationally recognized scholar and Japanese history and culture. His wife Haru is Japanese woman. Although he and his wife will leave Japan shortly, Reischauer said, their hearts and spirit will always in Japan and with the Japanese People. Photo shows United States Ambassador to Japan Edwin O.
