1968 - US President Johnson Visits UN Secretary-General U Thant: US President Johnson today visited Secretary-General U Thant at United Nations Headquarters where the two discussed the situation in Viet Nam and South-East Asia. Also taking part in the discussions were Ralph Bunche, Under-Secretary-General for Special Political Affairs, and Arthur Goldberg, Permanent Representative of the US to the UN.
