Feb. 02, 1965 - Girl Smuggled into country in Boot Of Car - is Deported.: Sixteen year old Heide Kohle was escorted to London Airport this morning and put on a plane for her home in Germany. Heide had been smuggled into England in the boot of a car - by twenty seven year old Edward Taylor - after her parents had refused permission for the couple to marry. Edward - a former L/Cpl. physical training instructor in the Worcestershire Regiment met Heide nine months ago - they fell in love. They travelled to England and she hid in the boot of his car when they passed through customs. Until Jan 26th. when Taylor was demobbed -she stayed with friends in married quarters at Lydd Army Camp - Kent. They them moved to Lichfield. Police tracked them down two days ago.
