May 05, 1973 - World Touring Traveldome At Battersea: A giant five and half-storey air-inflated dome was being opened today by the American Ambassador in Battersea Park. The dome, which will be open to the public free of charge, is known as the Visit USA Traveldome, and is supported entirely by air supplied by a specially designed generator which also operates the structure's air-conditioning system. A second identical Diesel electric generating unit provides the lighting and power requirements of the exhibit. Inside the dome, up to 300 persons at a time can view the Walt Disney 360-degree Circle-Vision sight and sound production American the Beautiful'. The 18-minute film portrays major US tourist attractions. The exhibit will remain in London for the summer before continuing its world-wide tour. Photo shows The American Ambassador Walter H.
