Oct. 10, 1976 - Monty's famous war-time caravans to be handed over to the Imperial war museum: The war-time caravans of the late Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery of Alamein will be handed over to the directors of the Imperial War Museum on Thursday Oct. 28th. The presentation will be made by Mr. Robert Brown, Under Secretary of State for the Army. A number of the Field Marshal's TAC HQ Staff will be present at the handing over ceremony tomorrow. Photo shows William Edwards, 71 (M.V.O.) who was Monty's head driver and in charge of all vehicles and cars, pictured inside one of the caravans which have arrived at the Imperial War Museum.
