Jul. 07, 1982 - George Shults Testifies: Secretary of State designate George Shultz (above) as he testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee at confirmation hearings today. Shultz stressed that it is necessary for the U.S. Israel to have talks with the Palestinians before any settelment can occur in the Middle-East.The senate wants to know more about the Bechtel Corporation and Shultz involvement in middle east problems there with that company. Shultz has been working that area with Bechtel for the last seven years
