Apr. 22, 1964 - Mac the Mod... Ex-Premier Becomes A Beatle: Quite a stir has been caused in the ranks of the Tory party by the appearance in the East London Festival of Art, at Walthamstow, of a painting by 20 year old art student Peter Weevers, of former Prime Minister Harold MacMillan wearing a high-necked polka dot shirt, and a leather jacket, holding a Beatle type guitar. Some tories have referred to it as disrespectful, but others think it rather amusing. Photo shows The painting of Harold MacMillan is hung at the East London Festival of Art today
