Jun. 06, 1969 - Gibraltar Blockade. Spain severed its final land link with the Rock of Gibraltar, sealing off the frontier at the coastal town of La Linea, and there were moving scenes on the Gibraltar side at midnight. A chorus of boos went up as the gates were slammed at locked by Spanish police. OPS: Spanish workers in front of the closed border after it was closed by Spanish Government. Workers did not enter Gibraltar today, because the border was closed at midnight last night
