Oct. 10, 1959 - City Oneumatic Post In Hamburg: As first city in the world, Hamburg will have a large aneumatic-post net. Teh new szystme of getting themail from the post-office to another will requiry, contrary to the oneumatic post already existing, larger boxes whixgh can contain up to 1000 letters. Also, the boxes will not glide throughtthe tubes but, considering their size, will go on rolls with a speed of about 50 km/h. Tests have been made with this new system since 1957 and with such god results that now the postal authorities of Hamburg agreed to the building of a pipe, connecting one of the Hamburg post-ofices, it is to be laid in 1960.
