Praying monks in exhibition, Munich
Oct. 10, 1962 - The praying monks in the Munich Exhibition: The famous plastic art Betende Monche (praying monks). which had been confiscated 25 years ago by the Hitler-regime during the action degenerated art and which was sold to a foreign country against foreign currency, now could be given return to the former owner, the national gallery, the country Berlin had to pay therefore 300, 000 to an American private person. Professor Reidemeister, Berlin, has passed now this plastic art to the House of art in Munich, where the praying monks are showed during an exhibition degenerated art painting storm 25 years ago, to see also paintings of so famous artists as Gauguin, Picasso, Chagall, Braque, Barlach, Klee, Kokoschka, Corinth, Nolde a.s.c. which were confiscated in the mentioned time, too. The Munich exhibition is opened till 16.12.1962
