1971 - Preparing for the Royal Academy summer exhibition: Every year the Royal Academy faces the immense task of getting their Summer Exhibition ready by early May. Its Selection Committee, traditionally 15 Royal Academicians, has to consider some 12, 000 paintings, drawings and pieces of sculpture. The next stage is left to the Hanging Committee who make the final choice.
