Sep. 09, 1974 - President of The United States Pays Official Visit To UN Headquarters The President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford, paid an official visit to the United Nations Headquarters and conferred with Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim and with the President of the General Assembly Abdelaziz Bouteflik (Algeria). During his visit, the President of the United States addressed the General Assembly and was a guest of honour at a luncheon given by the Secretary-General. Before the luncheon Mr. Ford held a reception in the North Lounge, where he met with the Chairman of delegations and permanent representatives to the United Nations. Here, President Ford is seen during his meeting with Assembly President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. At left is Ambassador John Scali, Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations. At right is Henry A. Kissinger, Secretary of State of the United States
