Nov. 11, 1974 - President Ford Visits Japan. President Gerald Ford and Emperor Hirohito of Japan stand at attention during the ceremonies held in the president's honor outside the Guest House in Tokyo. Behind the president is his naval aide, and next to the Emperor is Mr. Shimazu, chief of the Akasaka Palace Guest House where the president is staying, and a Japanese interpreter. The picture was taken shortly after President Ford arrived in Tokyo
