President Gerald Ford visits West Germany

Jul. 07, 1975 - President Ford visits the Federal Republic of Germany: On the evening of July 26th, 1975, the President of the United States, Gerald Ford and his wife Betty arrived at the airport Koln/Bonn for a short visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. This is the first stop on the President's travel in Europe, which will furthermore take him to Poland, Finland, Romania and Yugoslavia. The president and his wife accompanied by US Foreign Minister Henry Kissinger will leave on July 28th for Warsaw. Photo shows President Ford giving a speech at the base of the 1st brigade of the US armoured division in Kirchgons to American and German soldiers and their families
