President Ismail Al-Azhari of Sudan is dead
May 21, 1967; Khartoum, Sudan; ISMAIL AL-AZHARI, former President of the Sudan was chief of state when a military coup last May 25 toppled the Government. It was announced that he had been taken into safe custody. He was scheduled to face interrogation by a committee investigating political corruption. Mr. Azhari became president of the Supreme Council in 1965. He served as the Sudan's first Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior
