President Juan Peron gives State of the Nation speech

May 05, 1953 - Peron Makes State Of the Nation Speech: Seven bomb explosion in Buenos Aires on May Day heightened tension in the city. The seventh went off near the congress building soon after President Peron had begun his state of the Nation Message. Later, in his address to the May Day gathering in the Plaza de Mayo, the President contributed to a lessening of tension with an address to action gangs'. When you go out to burn I will be at the head of the procession he began. Photo Shows President Peron speaking from the balcony of Government House, Buenos Aires. Above are portraits of himself and the late Senora Eva (Evita), his wife, who died in 1952
