President Juan Peron makes state of the nation speech

Peron makes state of the nation speech, seven bombs explode in Buenos Aires: Seven bomb explosions in Buenos Aires on May Day heightened tension in the city. The seventh went off near the Congress building soon after President Peron had begun delivery of his State of the Nation message. Later, in his address to the May Day gathering in the Plaza de Mayo, the President contributed to a lessening of tension with an admonition to the action gangs'.
