President Richard Nixon and the Quadriad

The Quadriad - President Nixon meets in his White House office with four officials of his administration who have major responsibilities for shaping and carrying out economic policy. From the left, the officials are William McChesney Martin, Jr. Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Mr. Nixon; David M. Kennedy, Secretary of Treasury; Robert P. Mayo, Director of the Bureau of the Budget; and Paul W. McCracken, Chairman of the council of Economic Advisers. The four key officials are informally referred to as the Quadriad when they meet to discuss economic issues
