President Truman speaks at UN cornerstone ceremony
Oct. 10, 1949 - United Nations cornerstone Laid At Organisation's Permanent Headquarters: About 10, 000 people, including delegates to the United Nations, attended the dedication of the World organisation's permanent headquarters in the centre of New York. The cornerstone of the new building was laid by M. Lie, the Secretary-General and Mr. Truman was the principal speaker at the ceremony.
