Jan. 01, 1967 - World Premiere of A Countess From Hong Kong. The world premiere of the film A Countess from Hong Kong, which was written and directed by Charlie Chaplin, took place last night at the Carlton Cinema, Haymarket, London. It was something of a Chaplin family occasion. Four Rolls Royces took Mr. Chaplin, his wife, Oona and seven of their children, to the premiere, which was attended by Princess Alexandra.
