Dec. 12, 1971 - Princess Anne and Jackie Stewart receive awards.: Princess Anne and Jackie Stewart this afternoon received their Daily Express Sportswoman and Sportsman of the year awards at the Savoy Hotel. Princess Anne the European three-day event equestrian, polled 51 per cent of the total votes for the Sportswomen of the year, but Jackie Stewart, world champion racing driver, beat athlete Dave Bedford by only 32 votes.
