Mar. 03, 1969 - Princess Margaret Hovercraft visits London.: Tower Bridge was raised for the first time for a hovercraft today, when the British Rail Seaspeed Sr N4 Princess Margaret entered the Pool of London for a three-day public visit. The Princess Margaret will leave the Pool at dawn on Sunday to return to the International hovercraft terminal at Dover. She carries up to 254 passengers anbd 30 cars at speeds up to 80 m.p.h. and crosses the Channel in 40 minutes. She resumes service between Dover and Boulogne (Le Portel on April 2). Photo shows the Princess Margaret coming through Tower Bridge, which was raised for the first time for a hovercraft today
