Princess Margaret and Royal Navy frogman on frigate Dido

Feb. 02, 1969 - Princess Margaret visits NATO standing Naval Forces ships in the Thames: Warships of the Nato Standing Naval Force Atlantic, are berthed in the Thames during their six day visit to London. It is the first visit of Force's ships to London and coincides with the twentieth anniversary year of NATO. Today, Princess Margaret went on board four ships in the Albion Dock, Surrey Commercial Dock. They are the Netherlands flagship of the Force, the frigate Van Nes the Norwegian frigates Narvik and Stavanger and the Royal Navy frigate Dido. Two other destroyers the Limberg of the Netherlands Navy and the Vessel of the United States Navy are moored at Greenwich during the visit. Photo shows H.R.H.
