Princess Marina visits YWCA Land Army Hostel, WW2

Feb. 26 Princess Marina - Anxiety': The condition of Princess Marina, 61, has rapidly deteriorated in the last 24 hours and is giving rise to anxiety, a statement from Kensington Palace said today. Members of her family spent the night at the Palace. The statement said: Princess Marina, who left the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases five weeks ago, has since been resting at her home in Kensington Palace. During the past 24 hours however, the Princess's condition has rapidly deteriorated and is now giving rise to anxiety. Princess Marina is being attended by Sir Ronald Bodley Scott and Dr. MacDonald Critchley. Formerly Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, she was married in 1934 to the Duke of Kent, who was killed on active service in 1942. Photo shows this picture of Princess Marina was taken in 1941, when she paid an informal visit to the Y.W.C.A. Land Army Hostel at Slough, which had just been opened.
