May 08, 1959 - 8-5-59 Ronald Marwood executed at Pentonville Prison. Police intervene as crowds struggle outside jail A crowd of about 700 strong demonstrated outside Pentonville Prison this morning when Ronald Marwood was executed for the murder of Police Constable Summers during an affray in Holloway. Mounted Police had to force back the booing, muttering crowd. Blows and kicks were exchanged between the police and the demonstrators and two arrest were made. There was a wild seething mass of fighting people as four policemen struggled to maintain their grip on a struggling man.
