Apr. 18 Kidnapped Lufthansa - jet in Mogadischu Assaulted: The passengers and the crew of the kidnapped Lufthansa jet on October 13th at its fly from Mallorca to Frankfurt/ main (FRG) are free. A special unit of the Federal frontier defense assaulted, a short time after midnight (18.10) the Boeing 737 which stood at the airport of Mogadischu/Somalia and rescued all 86 hostage. Three of the terrorists (with the kidnapping of the jet they wanted to lay emphasis on the demands to release 11 German and two arrested in the Turkey terrorists) had been killed and one hurted. Juergen Schumann, the 37 year old captain of the Boeing 737, had been murdered by the terrorists during the hostage dram, which lasted four days. After publication the rescue of the hostages, the leading heads of the Baader Meinhof gang, which are arrested in Stuttgart - Stammhein (FRG) committed suicide. Andreas Baader and Jan-Carl Raspe shot themselves, Gudrun Ensslin hanged herself in her cell; Irmgard Moeller survived her suicidal attempt. Onlookers and journalists stood since the hijacking day and night in front of the prison in Stuttgard Stammhein (FRG), where the leading heads of the Baader Mainhof gang are arrested. But the terrorists had no success and the gates of prison had not opened for them, so three of them took their own life
