1965 - Prison Football Team win a cup final.: The football team from Chelmsford Prison, were last night allowed out for the first time to take part in the Division 11 Cup Final of the Wild-Essex Combination - against Thexted village football club, at the Chelmsford City ground.The prsion team won by 6 goals to 4. Captain W.I Davies, the prison Governor was at the match to cheer the prison team to victory. Photo shows an official of the Mid-Essex Combination - shaking hands withe the prison team prior to the match last night. The player's faces have been erased to prevent their identity
