Prisons
Oct. 10, 1969 - New prison escape bar: Kingston prison, Portsmouth, until a few weeks ago a Borstal prison, is being converted into a new Top Security prison. Experiments are being made with a new type un-climbable plastic wall toppings. The first two are shows on-top of the high wall which surrounds the prison. The wall is about 30 feet high. Men from the Army special Services unit have already made attempts to get out of the prison in daylight, by throwing grappling hooks over the curved wall tops, but found it almost impossible to get the hook fixed the other side of the wall. These men were experts and did the trials on daylight. At night they found it impossible. The top are white and any dark object shows up
