Professor Hannes Alfven
Oct 27, 1970; Stockholm, Sweden; The 1970 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded today to a Swede teaching at the University of California's San Diego campus, Professor HANNES ALFVEN, and the Frenchman, Louis Neel of Greenoble University. Alfven was honored for fundamental work and discoveries in magneto Hydrodynamics with fruitful application in different parts of plasma physics the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced.
