Sep. 09, 1968 - Promenaders Pilgrimage: A week-long 120-mile Promenaders Pilgrimage from London to Stamford (birthplace of Sir Malcolm Sargent) began today - to raise money for the Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children - set up in memory of the conductor earlier this year.
