Queen Elizabeth II at 700th anniversary of Parliament
Jun. 22, 1965 - The Queen attends the 700th anniversary of Parliament: In the flower-decked Westminster Hall today H.M. The Queen, and other members of the Royal Family, attended a ceremony to mark the 700th anniversary of Parliament. Simon de Montfort, Earl of Leicester, convened the first Parliament which sat between 20th January and the end of March, 1265, in the Chapter House of Westminster.
