Jun. 06, 1970 - The Queen And Prince Philip Attend Concert At The Reopening Of The Aldeburgh Festival Concert Hall: H.M. The Queen, accompanied by Prince Philip, paid an informal visit yesterday to Snape, near Aldeburgh, Suffolk, on the occasion of the reopening of Snape Maltings Concert Hall for the first day of this year's Aldeburgh Festival. The new concert hall, rebuilt at a cost of nearly £200, 000 when the previous one was destroyed by fire on the first night of the 1969 Festival. Photo shows The Queen with Mr. Benjamin Britten, one of the Artistic Directors of the Festival, leaving the concert hall after attending the opening concert Music for a Royal Occasion yesterday
